On February 24, Teijin announced that it had agreed to establish a business alliance with Fuji Design Co. Ltd., a Japanese manufacturer of recycled carbon fibers, to establish a business structure for production, supply and commercialization. Carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP) products are made of recycled carbon fibers and adopt low environmental impact processes.
Fuji design's proprietary "precision pyrolysis" technology produces high-quality carbon fibers from used CFRP by removing matrix resins. It is reported that as a green technology, its CO2 emission is 90% less than that of carbon fiber produced from raw materials. Fuji design operates a commercial factory partially funded by the Ministry of environment of Japan and has been seeking to expand its business by developing new applications for its technology. At the same time, teiren has been working hard to reduce its environmental impact on the whole group, including reducing its CO 2 emissions at the level of fy18 by 30% by fy2030 and to net zero emissions by fy2050. At the same time, efforts have been made to reduce internal energy consumption, and the emperor has also been developing technology to recycle materials, including carbon fiber.
