Sabanc ı Kordsa (izmut, Turkey), a subsidiary of holding (Istanbul, Turkey), will acquire a majority stake in the Italian composite company microtex composites SRL (Prato), which provides carbon fiber fabrics and prepregs for ships, racing cars and super sports - the luxury automotive industry in Europe. Kordsa said that the additional investment will continue to transform into an advanced materials company, while also consolidating its position in the European market.
Kordsa has acquired four composite technology companies in the United States and invested heavily in Turkey. One of the investments is the compound technology center of excellence (CTCE), which opened in 2016 and is said to be a model industry university cooperation model in Turkey.
The acquisition of shares from microtex is expected to be completed in the second quarter of 2022, subject to the transaction conditions required for the approval (foreign direct investment) of golden power in Italy.
